This year the event had a ‘mental wellbeing’ hole, with Wellbeing Manager Paige Bell delivering breathing exercises to players throughout the day. Many of our counsellors teach breathing exercises to our young people, so it was fantastic for the charity’s supporters to experience first-hand the positive impact techniques like this can have. As well as the ’mental wellbeing’ hole, teams had the opportunity to put their skills to the test at our ‘hit the gong’, ‘nearest the pin’, ‘putting challenge’ and ‘beat the pro Danny Hill’ challenges.
Team Stellar Asset Management took home the Aravis Capital Golf Day 'overall winners' cup with a total score of 86. Huge congratulations! The event was supported by some of the charity’s young people, who were on hand to talk about the impact the charity has had on their lives. Players also had the opportunity to chat with charity patron, BBC presenter and Olympic medallist, Jenny Jones.
Event organiser and Switch180 Director, Dan Charlish said: “We thank all our super star supporters from the bottom of our hearts for signing-up to the golf day and making it such a success. £15,000 raised is a fantastic amount it will make a significant difference to the work we do.
This year we were delighted to incorporate some mental health based activities to bring awareness to the important work we are doing in this area. As a charity we work with young people who are facing a range of social and mental health problems, and events like this help us to provide vital support through Stop.Breathe.Think and other programmes.”
