Fundraising Manager

Job description:

Location: Hove (Tuesday – Thursday are office days with the option to work from home on a Monday and Friday)

Salary: £27,500 – £30,800 pro rata

(Vitality Healthcare and pension scheme once 6-month probation has passed)

Hours: Full and Part-Time considered

Duration of Contract: Permanent

Annual Leave: 25 days p/a

This is an exciting opportunity to join Stop.Breathe.Think’s growing Fundraising Department and support the development of our charity, a game changing mental health service for young people nationally.

About the Charity

Stop.Breathe.Think was launched in November 2020, in response to the growing needs of young people at that time. A unique mental health service offering early intervention and solution focussed therapy through accessible counselling to any young person who would like to talk.

Summary of Main Duties

We have supported more than 3,775 children and young people since 2020, with accessible counselling support. We’re seeing more and more young people getting in touch each month. In just year one the number of referrals we received increased by 78%, we now need to build the sustainability of the service through new supporters. You will be responsible for managing and expanding our current portfolio for generating funds, helping to maximise income by researching funding opportunities, writing compelling proposals and grant applications, and managing a portfolio of grant making trusts, corporate and individual supporters.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years fundraising experience from a diverse range of funding streams.
  • Understanding of the third sector, experience in the mental health sector would be preferable
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • To be able to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • A passion for supporting young people and a commitment to equal opportunities

Key tasks

  • To research a portfolio of prospects including individuals, foundations, statutory funds and company giving programmes.
  • To build and deepen relationships with existing and new funders through direct engagement.
  • To write compelling grant applications and fundraising proposals.
  • To write feedback reports using monitoring and evaluation data and case studies to keep funders well informed of progress.
  • In collaboration with the team, build and manage communications with supporters including newsletters, website and Annual Review content.
  • Preparation of fundraising assets including presentations and proposals.
  • Maintain and manage records on our database Donorfy.
  • To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required.

Management and Support

The Fundraising Manager will be employed by Stop.Breathe.Think and report to the Development Director who will determine the overall direction of the department and will set the overall priorities in consultation with the CEO.
